A little confused

My daughter is an addict and she's on subutex but she snorts it....this is still abuse/misuse isn't it?? I'm pretty sure she isn't doing any thing else. She used to be really bad with the needle and all so i'm not sure if I should say anything to her or not??

Hi Evy, I think that it would be good for you to sit down and talk to your daughter about this. Has she ever been to treatment for substance abuse? This site may help give you more information and insight, as well there is a phone number that you can call for guidance; http://www.myaddiction.com/content/main-pages/addiction-treatment.

Hi Evy,
I'm addicted to ritalin and snort that, which I know is totally stuffing with my brain, which is why I joined up today to get some support with quiting.

I think anything we snort up our noses can't be good.

One positive though is at least she's not injecting anymore, so that's a plus.

The hardest thing about addiction is that you can turn yourself black and blue trying to help someone, but unless they're ready to quit there's not a dam thing you can do. Trust me I know.

As long as she knows you're there for her, offering support and not judgement is the first step, and something many of us would love to have.

You sound like a great mum, so all the best.

I'm sure you'll come out the other side if you keep being positive and never give up on her.

She's a very lucky girl to have you, even though she doesn't realize this ATM, but one day, she'll thank you for never giving up on her.

Cheers
