Abuse comes in SO many forms that it can sometimes be missed by the majority but the damage to the victim is still very much so present.
I have met so many women from all over the world whom have suffered from some form of Abuse and I can tell you they all shared 1 important aspect of it; they blamed themselves for it.
Abusers have a narcissistic way by words, behavior, and materialism to manipulate their victims over time into believing that they are the reason the abuse started and continues.
How many victims have heard this line, “If you would just…”, “I only did this because you did/said…”, “If you leave me, I will…”, “This happened because of you…”, “You only care about yourself…”, etc.
Recognizing that MANIPULATION is the key to any abuser’s power, is the first step to taking your power back!
ABUSERS ARE HURT PEOPLE WHO NEVER HEALED THEMSELVES! ITS NOT YOUR JOB NOR YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HEAL THEM!
It may not be my fault but I stay in it. That’s me taking part in it. I subject my kids to living in this environment. Doesn’t that make me just as bad. He isn’t always terrible. I’ve turned more into him with my cooping tools.
And now question if I don’t play that role too. Guess we are a pair fit for each other. Takes two right?
Honestly, most victims adapt to their abusers environment and their behaviors.
Please remember you deserve someone who will ALWAYS treat you with respect, dignity, love, and empathy. You deserve someone who realizes that the person they have is a gift to be protected and nourished. The fact you can still speak a positive word about him, shows how genuine your heart is.
You are beautiful and there are so many people in this world that would love you the way you deserve, you are worthy of so much beauty that is in the world and I will pray that you experience it.
