Aerobic Exercise While Dieting

What is good goal for exercise when you trying to lose weight. I keep track of the calories I burn for each session of exercise (something that motivates me and I can view progress). I was thinking about 1750 calories through exercise which is equivalent to a 1/2 pound and I would have to achieve that in 5 sessions. Any ideas?

1750 is an awful lot of cardio. I achieve about 1500-1600 calorie burn but it takes me 2 hours of intense workouts. Personally I run on the treadmill 1 hour, do the bike 15 mins, do free weights 15 mins then do strength/circuit training 30 mins..I use one of those wrist watch heart rate/calorie counter things as the read outs on the machines way over estimate the amount of calories burned by about (25%) so if the read out on the machine says you burnt 1000 cals, its more like 750.

I do not mean to say I would attempt to burn 1750 in cardio session. This would be spread out over 4 5o 5 sessions. Did you think I meant in one session??

Been doing this and it felt great. I feel that my routine is extremely healthy. And amazing because I have my friends with me doing it. By the way, I'm looking for review of the Asics Gel Lyte series because I'd like to buy it.
