Avatar Therapy, anyone?

Addiction therapy used to mean sitting in a circle of anonymity in a church basement on a Tuesday night, but now some people are having success by sending their avatar to get psychological treatment from a therapist avatar in the online multiplayer game Second Life (Schiffmann, Lizzie. "The Avatar Will See You Now." Popular Science, January 2011.).

While it has its limitations, some people say they're able to open up much more easily as an avatar. What do you think-- does this sound reasonable to you, or does it sound like some modern-day perversion of addiction therapy? Opinions?

I think it could definitly help because people wont know who you are and you dont have to be face to face.
