Cabin Fever - extreme irritability and restlessness from living in isolation or a confined indoor area for a prolonged time
I have spent alot of time indoors this summer because it has just been so very hot here. I have heard from others I see while out shopping that have been doing the same. I thought to myself the other day that it feels like I am suffering from cabin fever because I have been indoors by myself alot lately. I am more familiar with people having cabin fever during the winter months but I think it can also occur at other times like the summertime when it is so very hot.
I get the feeling of cabin fever, during the snow and during long periods of recovering from an infection or some kind of flair. Sometimes, I need to rest and be isolated and other times I feel it does not help and need to get over it and be out. It is very hot here and I am suffering from blocked allergies and I cannot function for more than two hours before I have to go lay down and sleep.. I feel sad for my dog because I sleep so much.He sleeps with me, but I know he wants to be playing or doing something else
Thanks flowergirlh2o. Those are some great tips. I have been working on getting out of the house more. I have been feeling better because of it. I may get out today and do some yard work. That always makes me feel better. I hope you have a wonderful day! Keep coming and sharing with us. ((((hugs))))
Hello :) I know exactly what you mean by having cabin fever this summer. On June 7th I had emergency quadruple bypass surgery. Big shock at age 37. I'm not allowed out in the heat/sun for more than a few minutes at a time. So much for my dying garden (hubby is trying to take care of it) lol. I find that if I go out to get the mail or just walk in the driveway for even 2 or 3 minutes a couple of times a day it makes a big difference. I haven't attempted to go to a mall to walk yet. I've heard some people say that helps. Exercise is a good option too. If you have a Wii, there are some really fun games on there. Just know that you are not the only one feeling this way and you are in my thoughts. It sucks but it sure is nice to wake up breathing every morning!
HI!!! I have cabin fever also =) I have not been out so much it is so hot also here for the past two months.. But I been most indoor I try to stay busy but it dosen't help at times.
