Clonazepam

I have always been a nervous person with very high anxiety. Going for a ride in the car, going to an interview, going on vacation especially on a plane has always razzeled my nerves. I was up for a very important interview last week in which I had to cancel because I was up all night with a panic attack. You know heart racing, throwing up, thinking non stop how things could go wrong etc. After canceling I decided I needed to see my Psychatrist as an emergency visit. She was so nice and gave me clonazepam which has completely taken away my anxiety. I know this is a controlled substance but I am only on .5 mg and boy has it helped. She was so upset that noone gave me this medication before since I have had anxiety problems for the past 5 years. For the first time in my life I feel calm and I can handle anything that comes my way. Driving in the car doesn't make me nervous anymore, I am excited about my job interview tomorrow, I feel I don't need to drink to calm my nerves anymore etc. If you are having anxiety problems I hope this medication can help. Because it's a controled supstance I wouldn't ask for it right off the bat - just be honest telling the doctor you have panic attacks and afraid to work etc . . . if she/he asks of a drug that might help you than go ahead and say clonazepam . . . but never xanax. Xanax is the hardest drug to get because it's more addictive than crack as I hear. This medication will just take away those worries and fears . . . it's seriously has saved my life and good luck to you all.

thanks, ill go write this down, might need it, thank you ! :)

Be very careful with this. I take 6 mg a day for my anxiety. my body built up a tolerence so quickly. just be careful and talk to your doctor about the dosages. just thinking about the amount of clonazepam i take gets me worked up and my anxiety going. i wish the best for you and im glad your feeling better just be careful.

I just wanted to say to please be careful taking Clonazepam. I was addicted to Xanax for 12 years. I was taking massive doses. I was taking from 12-15 bars a day. I went to rehab and have now been off for 1yr and 4months. They winged me off Xanax with Clonazepam. It is addictive too. But it was a must because there are no secret medicines to come off Benzo's all at one time, you must be winged off. There was one girl that was in there with me for being on this drug. Unfortunately, it can grab ahold of you before you know it. But it is needed to treat panic attacks. So please be careful and let me know if there is any advice I can give you. God bless....

I'm so happy this med is helping you! I've been on Clonazepam for almost 25 years and have gone without, so not addicted to it. It totally changed my life too! Never had a problem with it or any side effects. I know it's not the same for everyone. Stay well!

Wow, I'm so glad I found this site. I too take clonazepam. .5 mg/day and have been on it for the past 4 mos. While I don't get as sleepy on it as I did in the beginning, I don't think I've become tolerant to the medication, meaning, it still works for me at that dose. I do get a lot of pressure though from everyone to wean off of it: my psychologist, my sister who is a pharmacist. It's a miracle drug for panic attacks. Mine were debilitating. I suffered through them for 3 months before a dr. prescribed me clonazepam. I was having panic attacks at home, in restaurants, in church. I felt like I was going to die. I lost too much weight, lost hair, cried all the time, I was a mess. While I don't know if it is a long term solution, I know it works. I guess the important thing is to keep under close supervision with a dr.'s care while on it, that's all we can do when we find something that remedies an acute situation.

Hey there! I have been on Xanax for years. I only have taken it for emergency panic attacks when I was suicidal or couldn't breathe. I did find it addictive and had to go to rehab to get off of it because of the risk of withdrawl effects. I got off it while in rehab but my doctor prescribed it to me within a week of getting out of the hospital. I learned to only take it when needed which was rare. I also needed something longer acting and so my doctor prescribed me Klonopin this morning. I had a really bad weekend with panic attacks and completely lost it. I made an emergency appt this morning and told her about trying Klonopin. I was on it several years ago but we are going to try it again. Using it more as a mood stabilizer so I don't have constant ups and downs. I'm glad it's working for you!
