Day 1 - starting over

so, i am getting back on the work out track, and am bummed that i took so much time off (over a month), but am starting now withh day 1 of my work out. i am doing a jillian michaels video in hopes it will motivate me and am giving it 30 days. so wish me luck and let’s hope i can stay focused to keep this going.

which ones have you done? i am doing level one of the 30 day shred and could not believe how only 20 minutes could be such a hard workout… was seriously sore for a few days afterwards. I like it so far especially cause jillian always says that a good body doesn’t come for free you’ve got to work for it, very true!

just joined this group;today... i am just starting on the Metabolic Research Center plan,and just started walking yesterday i have a job at the hospital where i sit all day, sure could use some new friends and advice,all taken. thanks hope to hear from you soon!

well donna! welcome to this group. i am trying to work hard at being healthy and getting into shape. i have not heard of the metabolic resaerch center plan? what does that consist of?

i'm pretty much just doing it on my own. i got into running, but with the weather getting outside is hard so i'm trying some home work out videos. i started the jillian michael 30 day shred which is only 20 minutes long, so i know i have i no excuse to not do it. but so far so good with that one.

how is walking working out for you?

Victoria "ATTA GIRL"......WOW, I'm lucky if my knees & the weather holds out long enough for me to walk my dogs.....you sound DETERMINED :-)

victoria, i am walking right now havent exercised in many many years,so its a start... metabolic reearch centers, do you a diet plan for you. each menu changes so you don get bored, today s my first weigh in at 4pm, aot of ll natural products, this was my first week it is called "Precondiontioning week" were they start ot wean u off alot of carbs slowly so you dont get bad headaches.. one week theywill take u off milk and cereal etc, will find out todaymy new start menus today things i can have and thing to avoid for the next 2 weeks then it changes again, i like that.... i talk B12 supplements (liquide) under the tongues each day, no shots cant do pills,cant swallow them so its easy for me, each week i can get more things to eat like chocolate drinks (on the program) Moca drinks )on the program) etc. and so on let u kow more when I do!!have a healthy happy day!!

but what happens when u stop the program?

donna - good job on getting back on the exercise program. i don’t do a diet because they never work for me. the only thing i have changed about my diet is trying to eat smaller portions, stopping when i’m full and eating stuff in moderation. i do this cause i know i can keep this up for life. diets for me are not a life change and not soemthing i can do forever, or that i think are healthy. i hope the one you are doing is healthy and is working fo ryou.

lilac - i won’t say my weight, but ideally i would love to lose 20 pounds. after researching bmi and my height that would put me in a good healthy weight range for my height. but of course i have been talking about this for 5 years, so now i just need to do it.

thank you! everyday is a new day and the struggle is there. just working to stay motivated and keep my eye on teh prize.

hey victoria, keep up the positive outlook! so what's your ultimate prize? and how about some small medals in between to keep the motivation going?
short term goals help you realize the small achievements you make on your way. treat yourself for them like some pampering, a new bag, a massage, maybe even a nice meal (yeah, you hear me right!!). it reminds you that this is not only about weight loss but about being happy with yourself and gaining your health back!

those a great suggestions. will have to think of something, like maybe a nice new pair of shoes; i like that. ultimate goal is to be in shape with no jiggly parts, and just to feel healthy.

Just joining this group i tried jillian michaels but lost my motivation so im hear looking for motivation to keep me going on my new walking workout its awesome i met my goal of one fast mile two days in a row now im going for one week if i make that im going to go out for dinner. Please give me sometips im trying to lose weight but i need the help of a support group.
