Detoxing. Again. Day two is just starting. I wish I could just sleep through this. I feel so alone.
I am also trying to detox I am on day three. I am also feeling so very alone. Sleeping through would be a god send right now. What are you coming off of? I am trying again to wean myself from pain meds. I am available if you want to talk
@sasymay i know the feeling well, i guess the question is , are you taking meds for pain or has it become a habit? can you get your hands on some downers to help with sleep , maybe doctor help with something for anxiety and i guess the only other path would be something minor, some weaker pain med that isnt so addictive at least to get you through, thats my take, but obviously prayer and telling god how you feel sure can help but i know when u are sick it is hard to feel spiritual one good thing at least your not in prison, that is one of my biggest fears, just a bad place all around, no choices there i will pray for you
Hi riot. Keep it going. You're not alone.
Hope everyone is ok during detox. I have never personally been thru that and I wish everyone well!! Be safe.
After three attempts, this being the only truly real attempt to come off of heroin, I am day 9. They say day 5 is the mouth of the cave and they are right. Depression is a fixation on the past, anxiety a fixation on the future. Live for now and know that pain is necessary but after day five, force yourself to exercise a bit. The endorphins and seratonin will start balancing. Day three seems like not much. But is huge. You're over the hardest part. And I was entirely alone. Start St. John's wort now as well as valarian and within a couple weeks you'll feel so much better. I'm still by no means better. But the only other alternative is dosing again and starting over. We can spend our lives running from a bad week or two, or get through that andgetback to living.
How are you doing with your detox? You are so brave to do this. I have a question, how do you start to try to start something like st.johns wart? After 5 days of me not being able to get anything to stay down I'm done. The vomiting never stops I think I could do better if I could shorten that along with the nausea from hell. How do you get your stomach to hold anything?
St. John's Wort is a nervine and considered a blood purifier. It actually enhances the liver to do its thing a bit stronger. There's a bunch of low quality SJW out there but there are companies that make some legit quality sjw, like Gaia Herbs. Read up about cautions of SJW. There's photosensitivity, so don't go sunbathing while on SJW. Don't take Rx mind drugs while on it either (very bad).
If you get Gaia Herbs brand, just take 1 capsule a day. If you're concerned about the sun-UV sensitivity then take it later in the afternoon. As far as how long to take it. That's different for everyone. But a safe way to go about it is to take 1 capsule a day for 3-5 days, stop and re-evaluate for the next 2-3days on how you're feeling. If you've noticed progress and feel like you don't need it anymore then move on. If you want to take it some more then do another 3-5 days. and so on.
@Sanguine108 could you please tell me if I would be okay if I used Gaia St. John’s wort while I’m weaning down? Or would it be better for me to wait till I’m not taking any opiates
Thank you. I am learning more as I read here and watch videos and articles. I appreciate the feedback.
It's pretty easy to find Suboxone docs here, I'm in Miami. It's expensive though. Well, my boyfriend is a heroin addict. I've been with him for five years and have seen the withdrawal process several times. It's real bad. I guess what I'm trying to do is educate myself further by talking to other people to see what I can do, should do, should not do. I'm desperate for him to quit and I know I can't force him.
@Kcapote you’re right you can’t force him but he’s lucky to have you to try to help him. If he’s been on suboxone is he attempting to stop using or just taking them till he can use again? I wish I could get subs I am so ready but know that I can’t do it without.
No, he really does use them to stop. He used to take them every morning. Actually, when he relapsed, he took subs that day, but found the cravings to be too strong. Rather than taking an extra Sub to fight that, as he has done in the past, he tried to get high. Got frustrated because it didn't work then stopped taking the Subs the next day to try to get high. Sorry, I feel like that was confusing. His trouble now is that he wants to quit, but can't hold off the 24 hours he would have to wait to take the Suboxone.
@Kcapote. I understand, does he get that sick in 24hrs. or maybe he needs a higher does of suboxone?
SEVEN DAYS?! I have never been through withdrawal of any kind but watching him go through it is awful. I'll keep trying to come up with ideas on how to get you help. What state do you live in
@Kcapote I live in Maryland. Thank you for caring to help.
