Do men really know if the girl is marriage material right away?

I've read and heard time and time again that a man knows from the onset whether or not he envisions marrying a woman. She either goes into a "just for fun" or "marriage material" category. And, not to be surprised if a man who you've been dating for years breaks up with you, meets a woman and after a few months gets married.

Do men really categorize woman and know who they're going to marry from the onset?

Interesting thought. I think timing plays a huge role in that decision making process as well...
