It seems to be a common theme for most of us to deny ourselves the simply joys of life. Such as rest, relaxing, doing something mindless, yet FUN! We are much too hard on ourselves.
What can YOU do to give back to yourself in the coming days...every day would be awesome!
Take a break, and give back...to yourself! I promise you will be glad that you did!
Wishing you all a day of smiles and hopefully some giggles!
HUGS...Jan ♥
That makes me so excited for today & I'm going to do something for me! Thank you for posting this, it gave me a boost for the day :)

torch-bearing jan...
many thanks for your universal reminder to do something for ourselves. running around doing laundry, chauffering children to and from activities, helping with homework, planning and fixing and cleaning up meals, chaperoning trips, arranging playdates, and on and on and on... i make time to fit everything in for everyone else...i even make time to plan fun things for my children.
yesterday and today, i afforded myself some time for... yep you got it- arts and crafts! i don't care how old you are, there is something soothing about making a pompom caterpillar [okay i didn't really make a caterpillar- HA!] what i DID make is a fairy tutu complete with dangling pink and yellow pixie daisies. AND... i made it to bellydance in at a fairy festival this weekend.
i NEVER- and i do mean NEVER- dance outside of practice or classes. i am finally venturing out into the performance arena and allowing myself to make the time for ME to do what i LOVE.... tutu and all :) i'm going to stop using my children as an excuse to hide from the world and from the things i love to do.
what did you do for yourself today, jan hon?

I left work right after school. Allowed myself a cry. And wrote some truth to a friend. I hope that counts, cuz it's all I've got right now... :P

Hi Jan,
Thanks for this post. Sometimes a reminder is needed to let us know how impotant self care is. Its funny that I made time for myself one of my goals this week in therapy. Im aiming to spend half an hour everyday doing something I like. it was reading today and i liked it so much I took an extra 10 minutes with no guilt! That is huge thing for me! Thanks Jan, Take care, nicole:)
