Does anyone know how lexapro works?
I have a vague idea. I know it is a SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor). Serotonin is a neurotransmitter we need in our brain and if we don't have enough we get severely depressed or very anxious. There are cell that release the serotonin but they can be reuptaken by the same cells that released them. The SSRI prevents or inhibits that repute. sorry, if that it to scientific of an answer but that's the answer I've always been given about SSRIs!
