Easy Dependence

I would not consider myself an addict, but feel I could be if I had unlimited access and were not in therapy. I, as with many others have a paradoxical reaction to oxycodone. (Euphoria) I have chronic pain and for some time, was convinced I was taking them only when I needed to. Then, I started doubling and tripling dosage and was finding I was trying to chase that "high". Operatively, it is best altogether not to take them if you find ANY dependence on them.
That said, percocet (oxycodone) belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazapines. The body (specifically neurologically) becomes greatly dependent in a very short amount of time. It is NOT advised to "quit cold turkey". The withdrawl symptoms can range from unpleasant to fatal. Dependent on the level of use, a physician will work to wean the body off its addiction and will experience few withdrawl symptoms, if any at all.

Continue with your therapy and i wish you the best of luck
