Eating Disorder Support Group in Glasgow Scotland

The Positive Steps Eating Disorder Group is a support and self-help group in Glasgow whose aim is to provide support to those experiencing ANY form of eating disorder. We also welcome close friends/family/carers etc of someone who has an eating disorder/disordered eating habits.

The group offers a safe, welcoming, and informal environment and ANYONE struggling with ANY for of eating disorder, or food/eating-related difficulty can come and talk and receive support and understanding from those who have or have had experienced similar difficulties. The meetings are organised by someone who knows what it is like to have an eating disorder.

It’s often difficult to communicate what you are really feeling-especially to those who have not themselves experienced eating problems. This may include the medical community, as well as our loved ones. This group offers a place to express your feelings and concerns and feel genuinely understood. It is informal and friendly and always supportive. We always respects privacy and confidentiality.

Through shared personal stories, getting to know group members, and providing support and understanding, the group aims to provide alternative or additional support to those affected by eating disorders. The group is free, organised by volunteers and meets for a few hours each week (Monday evenings, from 5.45pm to 7.30/7.45pm) in Glasgow city centre.

If you are interested in coming along to our group, or have any other questions or queries, feel free to get in contact by joining our Meetup website or emailing [email protected]. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing about this valuable resource! Take care...Jan ♥
