Good Stuff 2: Laughing

The 2nd discussion in what I hope to be a series of them that are purely to focus on something positive. Feel free to keep posting on the first one, though, it's been really uplifting and I really appreciated the responses.

A brief summary- a simple way for us all to share something happy, funny, nice, pretty, interesting. Things we often forget to think about. Or forgot altogether. Just a place to remember what's good in our lives and hopefully smile a little more.

Last time I asked everyone to just share something they liked about themselves, anything, big or small. This time it's a bit harder, even I had trouble answering this one-

What was the hardest you've ever laughed and why? More broadly any moment you had a good laugh: funniest thing you ever saw or did, a joke that cracked you up, a movie that you giggled through, run with it. And don't worry about making us laugh, it's just about what made you chuckle, giggle, bust a gut, or the best, laugh til tears come out...

So here's mine- I came up with a few because a) it's a hard topic and b) it was fun.

Recently BURST out laughing:. My boyfriend and I are big nerds, we love this comic/show about ninjas (cartoon ninjas using awesome jitsu!). Anyway- it's the dead middle of night & I wake up to him giggling. I ask him why he's laughing before I realize he's sleep talking. He rolls over, still giggling, and proclaims: 'I'm the most awesomest ninja in all the land.' Then nothing, dead asleep. He's 26 fyi. A true nerd even in his sleep- why I love him.

Laughed to tears the first time my dad told me this: when he was a cute little 5 yr. old his neighbors drove up in their brand new pink car. Showed it off to my dad's parents for a bit, went inside. Few hours later, they come out to find their brand new pink car painted blue. By my dad. And at his 5 yr old stature, only the bottom half he could reach. HIS dad furiously asked him 'son why would you do that?' My dad looked up and explained what was obvious to him: 'It was pink. I hate pink. Shoulda got a blue one.' Cracks me up every time.

Ok guys- good luck, it's hard but fun!

aliente, good stuff....the only thing that comes to mind is mom and i on vacation and dunkin donuts, we drove for an hour looking for someplace up in maine for good seafood and all we came across was dunkin donuts, by the time we finally got food it was there and we just laaughed so hard we both just about peed our pants and our tummys hurt....not funny to readers but will be one of the fondest memories of mom as she died last year...i'm ready for some belly laughs gang

the story itself is not all that funny anymore but listening to my family tell it cause we all know it we start to laugh before the story gets out completely and the looks on the person we are trying to tell (a new boyfriend/girlfriend that is hearing it for the first time) as we just start laughing before the words are actually out for some reason tends to make us laugh more. Okay so here is the story.

My mom and my older brothers and sisters went to the local woolworths. While mom is checking out my 2 brothers are standing by the front door watching the new fangled automatic door (do you remember back when it was the pressure pads on the ground the caused them to open this would have been early 60's). Anyway so as they are standing there and going in and out to make it work. My brother yells a the top of his lungs about the mouse that just ran past.

Well it turns out he got too close to the door it caught the front of his NEW brown canvas shoes and ripped the toe portion of it off an when the door closed it sent it flying. It was a good thing that he had just gotten the shoes and they were too large or it may have been a severe injury.

He got in trouble for playing at the door instead of just watching, of causing a panic with the implications of a mouse and got to wear a pair of shoes that we hand sown back together and glued onto the sole for the next several months cause they couldn't afford to buy him a new pair.

Needless to say he never stands near doors again.

A couple of things that make me happy is being on here, being around my nephew and godson, being around any kids and being around the dogs at the rescue I volunteer at.

Something that makes me laugh is sometimes the kids I babysit can say some pretty funny things, I can't think of anything off the bat but they do for sure can make me laugh. Also another thing that makes me laugh is my dog, something she does that I think is really funny is she bring shoes up from the entry way and bring them into the living room and then just leaves them there she doesn't chew on them at all she just brings them in the living room and leaves them lay in the living room so sometimes we will have 10 shoes laying around in our living room, sometimes we will be about to leave and be about to put on both of our shoes and well we have one on but then we have to go up the stares to find the other shoe in the living room.

OMG_ " Im the most awesome ninja in all the land" ....THAT made me laugh my butt off.
And it reminded me of a dream i had the other night when i woke myself up singing a song from the group "DELIGHT". I mean I literallly, in my dream forcfully got louder and louder until half awake i was still belting out the song and then i fully woke up. There is no way my nieghbors didnt hear me. LOL

AWSOME POST aliente ( your screen name even makes me giggle, i like it) most likley cause my funny bone has already been tickeled. thank you

just had to say that" Im the most awesomest nija in all the land" is my MANTRA for today, I litterally burst into laughter everytime i think it. that rocks
