Hi all- my name's abbi and i'm new to the group. i've been realizing for the past few weeks/months the negative effects my constant pot-smoking is causing (financial, health, relationships etc). but everytime i try and quit, i get overwhelmed, or feel defeated before i even begin.
does anyone have any advice or tips on how to get started and stay dedicated? i'm starting to worry that this problem is more out of control than i thought it was ...
Hi abbi2010, To get started - stop smoking pot. Take it a day at a time. You might also check out Marijuana Anonymous http://www.marijuana-anonymous.org/ and Narcotics Anonymous http://www.na.org/ for face to face help. I use to smoke pot myself but stopped. I have been clean from pot smoking for many 24 hours now. I did it a day at a time. Keep sharing with us. We are here for you. ((((hugs))))
Abbi, I'm in the same place you are, only I'm worried about my beer drinking as well. :-( I have a hubby who brews. I can't get away from pot or beer. :-(
Abby- This is how I quit smoking pot-
I met a guy and fell in love and he didn't like it because he was worried about my health or getting into trouble, so i stopped for love. Stop for someone you love, everytime I think about smoking just one last time.. I always think of him. It helps!
abbi2010, I understand where you are. I struggle with it daily. I will go a week or two without, and then slip. When I slip, I feel bad because my boyfriend doesn't like it and I take a risk of lossing my job. I'll have you in my thoughts, as I deal with the same temptation.
