The man whom I care for, for seven years now, is a retired doctor. He is rude to everyone he meets. I have to go behind him and apologize to people he has offended. I don't want anyone thinking I approve of his behavior. He is black and I am white. He calls me redneck, because I'm from Florida. Calls me stupid, because I'm not as "smart" as he is. I need this job, for now.
Yesterday was a very bad day for me dealing with his smugness.

@fre2bme would you say he is a narcissist? Has he always put you down or is this since he got ill? You may want to read up about narcissists to see if he fits that bill. I am trying to overcome narc abuse. I am finally getting better. It has been a long road though.

@fre2bme Is there anyway to get care for him, since he is doctor and just leave him? I don’t know how familiar you are with the disorder, but it is bad and there really is no cure. NO matter how nice you are to him, it will never be appreciated. It will never be reciprocated either. IF he is a narc. Sign up for that board as well, see if some of our stories click for you.
