Has anyone found relief from acupuncture or other healthy alternative methods?

Has anyone tried acupuncture or any other therapy to relieve their pain? I'm thinking about trying it out sometime this week, but was just curious if anyone else has yet.

i have never had it but my mother in law has and she said it doesnt hurt. i have thought about having it myself because of back pain. i saw it on a video once and it doesnt look painful but i hate needles. if you try it out could you let me know what you think? my mother in law has fibromyalgia to and again she said it doesnt hurt.

Hi foxy! Yes, I will let you know how the acupuncture treatment goes. Hopefully this will be something thatcould help with your back pain.
Lots of love and prayers to you and your mother-in-law.

thank you and i hope it goes well for you. also you could look it up on youtube. i did and it shows people getting acupuncture so maybe that will be more of an idea..

I'm a student of massage therapy, and have been working with several people with fibromyalgia. My mother, stepsister and best friend have it, and it's one of the areas I would like to specialize in. I know that massage therapy can have some very beneficial effects for clients with fibromyalgia like a reduction in pain, and improved sleep. The two actually can go hand in hand when it comes to FMS; the more pain, the less sleep, resulting in worse pain, even less sleep... etc.

The most important thing is to get with a massage therapist who understands fibromyalgia, and will work with you knowing that every single time may need a different approach, depending on how you are doing that day. Most of the complaints I've heard from others with fibromyalgia, who did try massage therapy, was that the therapist was too rough, didn't listen to them, or had their own agenda.

Anyway, it's just a thought of something you might try. :)
