Hello all! I am wondering if anyone here has problems sleeping at night? I am finding it harder and harder to fall asleep and stay asleep. I get a lot of "rest" througout the day but I don't usually "nap". I am not sure if I can be placed on anything to help me sleep with cirrhosis. Also I am getting more confused lately. My husband is starting to get frustrated over me asking the same question several times. I honestly 100% forget that I asked. I have been noticing a lot lately that I am zoned out. I take Xifaxan550 twice a day and we tried to add the lactulose on two seperate occasions but my body just can't handle it. I never made it past the third day doses, does anyone know how long it takes to get into your system and get used to it? Thanks for reading!
It sometimes takes a couple weeks for titration to occur. Sounds like a serious situation that has no real solution. I have difficulty sleeping too. I rarely get more that 2 hours sleep at a time. It takes me 12 to get 8. Frustrating and draining indeed.
Lactulose is hard to get the dosage correct. It does work, just keep taking it. I am a diabetic insulin reseistance which is hard to manage. my cirrhois is stage 4 other problems also. but just take one day at a time.
Lactulose is aterable drug with many side effects xifaxan is a much better drug to treat the sleeping issue but if you don't understand what is causing it you should read about what's comming and decide how you want to deal with the mental cognitive issues before they manifest so you,ll have a plan that you choose instead of someone else choosing for you.
