Hello Anxiety group! I'm glad I came here. I've been struggling with facing my anxiety as of late. I want to be able to live with it and move on. I tend to feel the most anxious when I'm alone. I feel so lonely and start suffering from ocd. I don't want to burden my boyfriend with it, so I try to do things to distract myself but that only goes so far. Also, when I try to make new friends I start getting super anxious and scared, yet I yearn for connection with people. It's annoying, sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy trying to accept and sit with it. But I can do this, I've been through a lot in my time. It's amazing that the thoughts in your head are the hardest things to conquer.

Hi there and welcome! We're glad to have you here. The mind is a crazy thing- there's that saying about how most of people's problems are not the situation, but their thoughts about a situation. I always thought that resonated with me, and with most people, probably. Just know you're not alone. We understand and are here for you. Maybe other members of the group have some strategies they use when meeting new people? Perhaps having your boyfriend or a friend with you in social situations can help until you get to know people? Or trying to meet people one-on-one rather than big groups? It can be tough to make friends, even for people without social anxiety, so I definitely get that. But just know we're here rooting you on : )
