Hello everyone....I’m new to this support group, but I really need and would appreciate the help....I recently was diagnosed with lupus, after chasing down symptoms for almost 10 years. But I’m so Grateful to have a diagnosis... I recently stopped working in Jan of this year, and have been trying to maintain my illness...it’s so frustrating and sad...I’ve been in the worst flare-up in my life over the last year...with only maybe a few days of being able to function a lil normal....I’m trying to work with my body, understand my new normal, while trying to explain to others everything that’s going on with me....just would love any support from anyone with understanding lupus better....I’m emotionally exhausted...Thank you

Welcome and thank you for sharing what you are going threw. I don't have Lupus do get checked for it every six months I have a ton of autoimmune diseases and all of them I had to try and figure out myself since the drs. just get to confused. I understand how you are feeling I was hit with all this in my 30's and became disabled now I am 52 and still fighting with more autoimmune diseases. Not everyone is going to understand but we are here and do care.

@Jennipain hi…thanks for your support…I’m 42, and finally got a diagnosis earlier this year after drs chasing my symptoms… I did a lot of research, and made sure I had someone to go with me to all my drs appointment…who kept notes, asked questions for me, because appts. Can be a lot…especially in a flare…but Be Blessed…and hang in there

My late girlfriend had Lupus. Try to pace yourself and don't over do it, try to avoid getting stressed the best you can. Stress is one of the worst things for Lupus.

@cbech42 hi…So sorry about your late girlfriend…but I thank you for you’re support…I still struggle with not over doing it, and asking for help from others…Be Blessed

Thank you for your support....I’m figuring this out one day at a time...and yes, I had to do a lot of research for myself and “help” the drs out too...but Thank God, I found a new primary dr. Who really cared and set me up with the right specialist!...

thank you. Yeah she was amazing her family always told her she needed to stop and rest. She wanted to do everything she was an adrenaline junkie, she got me to go skydiving with her lol. But there were times she needed to rest and she would get a lot of sleep. I always wanted her to rest if she needed it cause I could never put myself in her shoes. Its good that you found a good doctor, a lot of people don't understand Lupus and almost think they're faking it when they say they're tired or in pain. That's great that you got someone to go with you and take notes too!
