Hello. I have relapse/remitting. I recently started taking the medication "Tecfidera". According to the literature, it helps to reduce relapses up to 85% and apparently greatly reduces the occurrence of new lesions. The side effects can be a nuisance, hot flashes, nausea, but they're supposed to be temporary, while my body is getting used to the med. Has anyone had any longer term experience with Tecfidera?

Hi. I just joined supportgroups.com for multiple issues that I have. One is MS. I have rrms as well. I started out on copaxone, kill me now, those shots burned. I just started Tecfidera about a year ago now. A pill is a million times better than the shots. Don't know if it's helping to keep my stable, but my recent MRI shows stable. We'll see. Anyway.. the side effects are mild once you've been taking it a while. Be sure to take WITH FOOD! I can't stress that enough. For me, making the switch to this pill helped me so much. The shots were horrible and it always brought me down. A pill is just a pill, so it's easier to deal with.
