Hello,

I'm a 32 year old female trying to conceive. I had acne on my face, back and chest as a teenager and went on a course of Roaccutane that cleared it up completely. I didn't have any trouble for many years until I started get pimples on my face and a few on my back, chest and neck in my mid 20s (mainly on my face though). It wasn't like it had been when I was a teenager, but I went back to my dermatologist and was prescribed spironolactone and the contraceptive pill which cleared it up beautifully. I finished my spiro prescription and stayed on the contraceptive pill which seemed to be fine for me - it kept my pimples away. I usually only had a few here and there sometimes, otherwise my skin was mostly clear. Anyway, fast forward to my wedding and I broke on my chin and jawline leading up to the big day, so I went on a course of minocyline, which also worked wonders! I stayed on mino up until about 6 weeks ago (I have been off the pill for over a year). Anyway, my skin has broken out on my face (mainly my cheeks and around my chin and mouth) and I don't know what to do! I saw my dermatologist about two months ago and was recommends a low GI and gluten free diet, which seemed to help for a while....it may have helped for about a month, but I can't be are if it was still residual antibiotic working (from the minocyline), so if this is just hormonal...however that would be strange as I had my hormones checked and they are totally normal.
It's so frustrating!! Obviously there are many antibiotics and treatments I can't take/undertake as I'm TTC, so if anyone has any tips or anything that worked for them, please share! It's so embarrassing leaving the house as a professional 30 something woman with a face covered in zits!! :(

I am new to this website and this is my first comment. I hope it reaches you and it gives you some hope. I have been where you are at right now and I can share with you what has worked for me. I take Estroblock ( double strength). You will be able to easily find tons of videos on YouTube about this amazing supplement. It is recommended to anyone with Estrogen domninance and that is the majority of women. Once again, if you type estrogen dominance in either google or Youtube - you will learn more about that and it will benefit not only your skin but your general health. The fact that you were on the pill, it means you got too much of the bad estrogen. Another absolutely brilliant supplement for you to consider is Probiotics and Prebiotics. This is another supplement which benefits your general health not just your skin. I've been taking Estroblock for several years, but I always got hormonal spots around my mouth just before each period. No more. Probiotics and Prebiotics completely stopped that. You will find tons of anecdotal evidence shared in YouTube videos about the benefits of Probiotics and Prebiotics for acne. Also, consider some liver detoxifying supplement. My skin on the face is absolutely clear and has been for many months, regardless of the time of month, but I get occasional small spots, barely there, but still visible- on my chest and shoulders. So, I will get Resveratrol which is praised for its liver detoxifying benefits and I already read reviews on Amazon about helping with acne. I also take Apple cider vinegar tablets which are great for balancing my blood sugar. Nicely balanced blood sugar is crucial for skin health. Once again, these tablets are great for my general health. And it would be great for you to get a really good multivitamin and minerals complex. I like Solgar's Omnium because it has everything. I can mention a few other helpful things but I don't want to overwhelm you with information. I am sure this is a very stressful period of your life, good luck!

Thank you so much forum response and for sharing what worked for you. I'll definitely look into everything you suggested! It's really encouraging to hear that you're now enjoying clear skin after trying safe products!
☺️

Hi. I am 28 I'm on spiralactone as well and I still gets pimples. I have some on my chin right now :/ I have tried many diffeeent multi vitamins and nothing seems to help. My acne I know is hormonal which sucks. I feel your pain on being a professional with pimples all the time. I always feel like when is this going to end?! I'm going through treatments to try to clear up my acne scars right now from my terrible acne when I was younger. I wish I had better advice.

@jewels45788 Hello Jewels45788, I just read your comment and I’d like to share with you what I am doing for the acne scars I was left with after decades of acne. Currently I use Indented scar peel from Devotedthings. The product is called a peel but unlike other peels it doesn’t need washing off or neutralizing. It comes in a tiny bottle, it is a liquid which you apply with your fingers. When I first got it, the bottle was so tiny I was sceptical that it would work. But it did surpass my expectations and I am now in love with this product. I have reviewed it on acne.org so if you are interested have a look at the full review there. I am totally amazed that a tiny product which I apply twice daily under my moisturizer, without any need to rinse off or neutralize, has made such a big difference to the appearance of my acne scars. I am on my third bottle and will continue using this product until I get flawless skin. After decades of acne, my face and neck are very scarred, the skin looks uneven everywhere. If you decide to try this product I would recommend that you get a super duper amazing moisturizer, not because the peel dries your skin, but because moisturizing and nourishing your skin will help the scar removal process. On the website of Devotedthings you will find tons of before and after testimonials. I look at them often because it gives me hope that I too will be scar free one day. Good luck!
