Hello
my name is Vince and I have tinnitus, sometimes in my RH ear sometimes both.
After a deep sleep, it can stop for several hours or just minutes.
Has anybody found that the noise goes away when ill or distressed?
I had my RH ear washed out by a nurse and this gave me silence for 2 days. I was over the hill, so happy but I caught a cold/flu, not covid, I used a RAT test to confirm this.
Now it's back in both ears but mostly my RH.
Has anybody else had the same experience and what did you do?
Vince.

Vince. I am 70 years old and have tinnitus in my left ear only. I developed it a few months ago during a strange respiratory like illness. Finally, I went to my doctor who said I had fluid behind my left ear drum. Like you I was excited and thought if I got rid of the fluid, it would go away. I did a lot of research and did things so the eustachian tube would drain. After no relief, I went back so he could see if the fluid was gone. It was, so he had a CT scan done which showed nothing. I'm having my hearing checked in Aug. They say 90% of people with this type of tinnitus sound have hearing issues. Due to my age and the fact that I've been around load music at times, I'm guessing the inner ear cochlea hairs are damaged. The inner ear is a complicated structure, and I'm trying to learn about it. This is where I'm at; I probably will end up with hearing aids which I'm not thrilled about. Even though I'm 70, I'm very vain. But my tinnitus is constant - no relief. Thank you for listening. Good luck with fighting your tinnitus.
