My husband is stage 4. He has received six ABVD and an additional two AVD ....(the Bleomycin was elimnated from the past two treatments).
He is experiencing very severe dry mouth overnight. What can I do to help. He does sip water which then requires several trips to the bathroom. Tried the humidifier...(too noisy).
Hi Joyce! Thank you for being here with us and for sharing. Has the doctor given any helpful guidance regarding dry mouth? I don't have any direct experience, but am here to offer my support and help in any way that I can.
This side effect is new. We’ll ask for advice from the doctor next visit. Sometimes, those who have ‘been there-done that’ are the most helpful
p.s
I love puppy dogs, too.
Hi Joyce: I would say try the Biotene mouthwash (found at any supermarket or drugstore)...I am a dentist and that is what we usually recommend for dry mouth due to medications. I have had some burning/dry mouth sensation but not too severe so I haven't tried it myself but I cannot think of any contraindications for it.
Hope it helps.
Mimmi, I’ll head to Walmart today to search for the Biotene product (and will let you know if it works!) Thanks, …now can you help me with my dental implant…final stage takes place next Tuesday
Puppy, are JR terriers, terrors? Great that your folks gave it love and a new home. Hope you can find a place for yourself. I miss my adopted Border Collie that ‘wandered in’. Right now, just feral cats, deer, coons, foxes and birds (and occasional skunk)!
Joyce
PA_grandma, you are so wonderful, thank you for your response to my comment. My parents just rescued a 6 year old jack russell and he is the new love of my life. I can't have dogs in my building, but I am looking for a new home so that I can rescue dogs.
Thank you for being here and I am so happy that Mimmi was able to give you some great advice.
