Hi everyone, Im not very familiar with ciliacs disease, but a friend of mine was diagnosed, but hes not sure it was the right diagnosis. He has proteinuria, and severe edema. Never had any tests on his intestines, but a biopsy of his kidneys, does anyone have any info, we havent been able to find anything about severe proteinuria with ciliacs thanks JO
Hi Jo,The edema could very well come from the Proteinuria which is kidney disease.Did he have a 24hr urine collection test done?Actually the two are different health issues.Celiac disease can be brought on from Gluten foods and also be hereditary.There seems to be a few tests more he could have done.Check the diseases out separately on sites like mayo clinic and major hospitals.Good luck,Michele
Thanks, ya I told him about Mayo clinic, they said the problem with his kidneys was due to the celiac but we don't believe it..thanks..jo
