Herbs can help anxiety

some natural ways to help treat anxiety:

"Anxiety Disorder can be a debilitating and all-consuming condition for many of those who suffer from it. Whether you are affected by Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder or one of the many other forms of the disorder, you may have investigated the option of using prescription medication as part of your treatment.

With over 19 million people in the U.S. alone reporting suffering from some type of it, anxiety disorder is the most common of all mental health disorders. Fortunately, anxiety disorder is highly treatable, and with professional help, it can often be completely overcome. Many times, successful treatment depends only upon individual or group therapy and learned relaxation techniques. In some cases, however, anti-anxiety prescription medication is also recommended. The most commonly prescribed anxiety medications are benzodiazepines, such as Xanax, because they tend to have fewer side effects than anti-depressant medications. But benzodiazepines also carry a risk of alarming side effects and can be highly addictive, spurring many people to seek safer, more natural alternatives."

Interesting read, I don't think the all natural approach is good for everything but everyone is free to form their own.

Hello,

I am new here, so hope that what you read will help. And, the first thing to remember is that until Mr. Beyer took out his patent for Aspirin on June 3rd, 1899 all medication was natural. And, to a major degree, it remains so today. So, when we hear of new, groundbreaking products arriving from the big chemical companies, we need to remember that they are only putting a slant on natures gifts to gain an edge on the opposition! Silly, isn't it?

The Russians used Spirulina to save 83% of the Chernobyl disaster children. In 1974 that same Spirulina was given the accolade of the "Food of the Future" by The United Nations. Curcumin, a part of turmeric, is now known to cure almost all cancers. Serrapeptase, the enzyme the silk worm uses to dissolve its cocoon has been shown to be the most effective way to treat arthritis and other forms of inflammation. The list is endless.

For Anxiety, almost certainly the most effective tool is passiflora incarnata. To quote
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/871.html,

"Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database rates effectiveness based on scientific evidence according to the following scale: Effective, Likely Effective, Possibly Effective, Possibly Ineffective, Likely Ineffective, Ineffective, and Insufficient Evidence to Rate.

The effectiveness ratings for PASSIONFLOWER are as follows:

Possibly effective for...
Anxiety. There is some evidence that passionflower can reduce symptoms of anxiety, sometimes as effectively as some prescription medications.
Relieving symptoms related to narcotic drug withdrawal.....

In short, it does almost all the things expensive, and possibly harmful medication can do.
