Hey. Accountability partner - ever heard of such a thing on the web? Is there a support network for those detoxing where you could find a support-partner to be accountable to - someone who's run the race and is currently able to tell you how it's won? Would be interested in Skyping regularly - particularly with another gent, like myself. I have a long road ahead of me, from what I've read, and would appreciate that kind of accessibility. Not the needy, whiny type ... just some dude who wants to beat the demons for good this time - stay off all narcotics for pain management. IS IT POSSIBLE?
Not sure, are you also under the care of the doctor to help the detox process? It sounds pretty neat to be able to connect with that accountability factor during detox. Please keep us updated!
You might want to see about going to a out patient clinic or see if a doctor can prescribe you Clonadine which is a medication that helps with high blood pressure. But it helps with the withdrawal symptoms. However it will not help with not getting much sleep. It took me about a month before I got a full night of sleep. It does help with the chills vomiting and those other bad side effect. It is also not addictive which is important. Where are you getting your meds? I had to tell myself when I went though this I deserve better then living my life this way. The one thing I can tell you is that if you keep going you will lose that job you love. The only question is when. Nothing will get better for you until you stop. You should also see someone or find group about the grief you are experiencing . Goodluck
