Hi All,
Hoping that this forum helps my. I am struggling with this quitting smoking. Chantix gives me nausea, expecially when I take a few puffs. I don't know what is worse the withdrawal from nicotine or the chantix. Hopefully someone can give me some insight. Well I just wanted to introduce myself. And ask for a little luck on what I all my smoke free journey. I am going on day 8 with chantix. I use to smoke 1 pack a day. This pack now I opened Sun am. It is going on day 3 with the same pack.
Keep up the good work all YOU CAN DO IT!

@CKBlossom I got this. I totally quit only 2 days now. Had surgery yesterday quit the day before. I cut down from 1 pack a day to 1 pack a week prior to that.
I GOT THIS.
Thanks for the support CK

@Orca2021 Thanks for the support. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow. I thought yesterday was the day that would end it all. I had such an urge, it is indescribable.
Instead I grabbed a bottle of water and took a walk down the lane. It feels like Good Cop/Bad Cop in my head, and they constantly argue with each other, One keeps torturing me to smoke and the other keeps torturing me not to smoke. I just have to stick with the Good Cop and before you know it, it will be 4 weeks, then 6 weeks, then 4 months, 6 months, etc. It helps in a way because I had surgery 2 weeks ago, and the doctor told me in order for my bones to heal properly. NO NICOTINE ATT ALL!!!
And it is going to feel so good when he asks at my follow up appointment if i am still not smoking. Hopefully he will be excited as I am. Cuz when you have support it always helps. Well I rambled on enough. All just to say thanks for your support. Oh AND I GOT THIS!

That’s amazing! I started smoking again in March at the beginning of Covid. I am going to be a no smoker as of tomorrow, so I really appreciate hearing your story. “Good cop bad cop” is such a good way to put it!

@Orca2021 If I can do it then you can do it. I have been smoking for over 40+ years. The urges(as you must know)get real bad at times. That is when we have to shift our mind to the good cop. and say I DON’T THINK SO. It always fells better when winning the fight!
I find water from a water bottle works. And getting out of the house to breathe some fresh air works. I am out of work at the moment so it may be easier. But I am afraid. As soon as I go back(retail sales) I am going to want to smoke again. Especially knowing that my co worker that is stationed right beside me smokes a lot. And we are allowed to go out back and smoke if we want to. My Boss smokes too!
So that is the challenge i am up against.
So keep that in mind when you are quitting and look at my story and see how much less difficult you quitting today will help.
Happy Quitting… Hang in there. YOU GOT THIS!!!
