Hi all I am new to this so I have always had acne and it has always affected me, sometimes I don't leave the house bc I don't want people constantly telling me to try new products etc. anywho I got on birth control for two years to see if it will help my acne and it never fully did towards the end of the two years my acne was just getting worse and worse so I decided to quit birth control since it wasn't doing anything for my skin... after quiting my skin was the clearest it has ever been in it's life... however almost 3 months after stopping birth control and my acne came back and it made a huge come back now 7 months later and my acne is the worst I have ever had. I have being going to a dermatologist and I have calmed down some months but when my period comes it just pops back up and it leaves horrible scarring and I have painful pimples! I feel horrible and disgusting I am not trying to let it affect me but I just can't help it... thank you for listening

I feel very sorry for what you are going through, the stigma and all the 'stares' that people give, or even just the self consciousness of your own condition can give you a lot of stress. And it's the disease haunting you that might be even worse then purely the discomfort that acne gives in itself.

That being said, acne can be caused by different causes. I had a friend who got horrible acne outbreaks by eating mustard. They found out he was allergic to mustard. My brother had gigantic acne outbreaks caused by eating chocolate. My mother used to treat his acne with yeast creme and that really helped.
In other words, diet can be of great influence to your skin condition.

My suggestion is that you'd visit a dietitian, a psychiatrist and a dermatologist.

A psychiatrist because you are simply emotionally devastated by what the acne has done to your mental state of health.

A dietitian to review your lifestyle.

And a dermatologist to do a skin allergy test. In this they will inject all kinds of materials just underneath your skins and you will get a review on which substances your skin will react. I suggest you ask the dermatologist to also test your skin on various hormones, to see what they do towards your skin.

You want to end the endless going in circles on finding out what is tormenting you and focus on a cure for your acne.

I want you to at least read these articles here.

This because you are seemingly suffering from a hormonal acne. I am not showing this website to get you' buy products ' since you already complained that you didn't want people to do that for you. This is purely to inform you, and hopefully informative enough in order for you to devise your own 'system' to tackle acne.

Thank you I appreciate it!! I will read those articles thanks for all the info! <3

Hi I feel you! I have had acne since I was 12 and now I am 28. I still get pimples around my period or if my skin is dry from cold weather. I have been on spirlactone for about 2 years now and it has helped because my acne is hormonal. I am just dealing with the atrophic scarring ice pick and rolling scars left by my acne. I sometimes think the scars are worse than the pimples. I took birth control when I was 22 and it defiantly made my acne worse! Works for some people I guess.

@jewels45788 I hope it eventually gets better right lol! thank you made me feel a little better that eventually I’ll find something for me or that it goes away with age but we just gotta wait and see i guess ll <3
