Hi all,
I'm new to support groups, my name is Mina. I'm 15 years old and a freshman in high school, and I have trich. I mostly pull at my head and occasionally my eyelashes. My parents know about it, but my mom is more supportive than my dad. He believes that I can stop at anytime. I've been pulling for about a year now and have done an ample about of damage to my head. I've recently went to a hair stylist, who believes that me having small extensions in the places I pull, will help. Its been about a moth since I first got the extensions in, and I've noticed I've been pulling less in those specific areas, but I've started to pull more in other areas. Well, what I'm trying to get here is that I'm not very comfortable with myself. I struggle with self confidence. I remind myself I want to get my hair healthy enough to what it once was. I just would like to know some ways that will help me to stop pulling. What would you all suggest I do? See a therapist?

Yes, it's treatable with the help of a therapist who understands how to help you....make sure you ask if they're experienced with helping others change this behavior.
Welcome here.

@TennisPlayer Okay, thank you so much
