Hi all,
My mother was diganosed with lupus 1 year ago. Her rheumatologist prescribed Prednisone and Plaquenil to treat. Some lupus symptoms such as wrist pain and fatigue were relieved after taking meds 5 months. But recently, she's usually tired and the wrists become pain. Whether a lupus flare begins appearing? How to reduce it? I just want my mother lives happily
if your mother has lupus symptoms again, these can be signals of a lupus flare. For people with lupus, flares may come and go frequently. The best way to reduce flares are lifestyle changes and diet. Your mother needs to have healthy lifestyle and focus on healthy diet. Yoga, Tai Chi, walking are exercises to boost her health. Plus, try to eat omega 3, vitamin A, E, D, and B foods. Taking supplements is also a good way.
@Shevon1412 thanks for your useful tips. My mother used to try doing yoga, but it seemed to be hard for her. She got more tired and had to stop. For diet, she still eats healthy meals with fish, lean meat and fruits, but she can’t eat vegetables, such as broccoli, spinach, mushroom or bell peppers. I’m considering supplements for her. But many people told that people with lupus should be careful with supplements as they worsen the disease. The main aim of supplements is to boost the immune system while lupus patients have problem with the immune function.
