Hi everyone, does anyone know anything about trigger thumb and trigger finger? I have severe arthritis in my fingers and I started getting trigger thumb a few months a go. It is better than it was but I fear it will get worse again since thats how it goes. One night I was carefully opening a zip lock sandwich bag and my thumb got stuck in the bent position for about 5 min it wouldn't straighten out it was so painful I couldn't do anything but pace until it popped back out straight this has happened a lot over the last few months. If I go to the dr for it I wonder if they can do anything for it? Ive read that it helps to put a brace on it but theres a lot to pick from. Thanks for any info you might have!

Ok so no credit card is good! I looked at a sweatshirt and joggers.A toy for my daughters class. Etc We do not have spending money for these things until feb 1 because we had to change oil, had extra dr copayments etc. so they must wait!because I will not drain our bank accounts of cash. I simply cannot do that to my family. This is huge for me!!!! No hiding. Also I am slowly setting boundaries at work. I have a ton of meetings next week so I said I need a break put in. I moved another meeting because I’ve been slammed. No one micromanaged me to stop these things but it could decrease productivity or someone might say hey you don’t have enough hours working if I keep doing it. so Longterm this might lead to them decreasing my pay or it might not. but if I don’t change I am gonna have to take meds or get that new job stat. I can’t keep repeating what I am doing and having panic attacks. I also ordered Néw headphones and mic(paid for by work) so people can’t hear my kids as easily . It feels very unprofessional to me even if everyone is in the same covid boat. Finally I’m allowing myself that I can’t take care of my kids when I’m working. Non covid they would be in daycare. Currently they are home with family. But that doesn’t mean I can take care of them while I work. All of this is to say, not shopping is making stuff come up that I was ignoring by obsessing over purchases and shopping, it’s uncomfortable to deal with but I am slowly.

@Vivi52020 i think you meant for your post to be in another group??

I had a mild case of arthritis after I had cancer. Not sure why. But it started to get pretty bad to where it was hard using my hands and I had to stop playing the guitar and opening jars was tough. I started on a gluten free diet a few years ago and that seems to have helped my arthritis immensely. So I asked my doctor if it's a safe diet and he said yes, that his own wife was using that sort of diet. I have a sensitivity to wheat.

My new doctor seemed to have no good advise at all other than analgesics. But like I said the gluten free diet truly helped me.

Eliminate gluten and sugar. What a difference your world would be!

@TimMc, sugar, good point. I don’t eat sugar so I hadn’t thought of it.
