Hi everyone. I hope you all stay on this site.

I know things have changed radically lately but I hope all the regulars stick around. I really need the support I have had on this site and already had my biggest supporter leave because of the new changes (the exposure of our emails) I totally get but I want to stick around because it actually seems like there might be a lot of positives coming to the site. Chat is a great addition and I feel like it might really help people in times of crisis. I really hope they let us follow our supporters so we can easily see their posts. That builds friendships and makes supporting each other easier. Maybe we can do that… I’m still getting used to the new interface. Love you all and hope you all stick around.

They seem open to user feedback to help fine tune and change things people may have issues with. If that’s not just them throwing out platitudes, throw your 2 cents in. Can’t hurt.

Yes, that is absolutely correct! Our team is working tirelessly to fix these bugs and implement feedback from you all! Please continue to share how you believe we can make our community better.

This is a bizarre request… but SG Admin, could you please explain a little bit about who you all are working on this site? All I know is I come here for much needed support, but now an unknown group is taking responsibility for the site (which in the long run could be very good), and I understand growing pains, but is there anything you can tell us about the people working on this so I don’t feel like it’s some random Great Wizard of Oz behind a curtain? If not ok, but I thought I’d ask…

Yes I hope they communicate with us so we can give them feedback and make this site better.

Hello! The new SupportGroups team is a group of individuals from across the United States who have an immense desire to help those struggling by uplifting their voices. We believe in helping to de-stigmatize the Posts of mental health, addiction, physical health, relationships, and the LGBTQ+ community to make the world a more loving, caring place. We hope that all of our community, you guys, know that we are here to understand you, listen to you, and accept you. Lots in store for the site in the future, so stay tuned!

SG Admin, Thank you for the information. Please, I would like you to keep some of OUR priorities in mind.
We come here for support. We are anonymous, but we build friendships as ourselves as real people. We do not have problems with any stigmas regarding anything here.
That’s part of why the simplicity and function of the old website was so important. It absolutely met our needs, and this Post is just the one I’m starting with.
As much as I try to interface with this new platform, I am unable to find any support here now. So much has been lost. It used to be so easy with our personalized feed from the groups we joined. It is unbelievable to me that you all took that away. I find the removal shocking. It was so important.
So please reconsider, are your goals truly aligned with ours? Morally, based on the purpose of a Support Group, aren’t the needs of the people inside the group the top priority?
I feel your vision for this place comes from a view of outsiders. Have any of you personally dealt with mental illness? And so many very difficult and painful Posts that we bravely address with help from each other?? The list goes on and on, and that’s part of what was so beautiful… and then such easy access in our personalized feeds and all of our groups listed on the righthand side… it worked very well.
And SG has always been a loving place… I’ve been at SG for years. I mean… am I crazy remembering that we had one button, and it was a heart? And we used it??? What more did we need? Am I making it up?
SG Admin some of your changes seem insane. There will always be one or two bad apples, but all we had to do was report it… easy.
Anyway, I ask you to take this message to the team and re-access your goals. I have contacted some other members to discuss this and I am not alone in this view.
Thank you for your consideration.

SG Admin… and what is with the craziness of automatically changing our words into something else? I did not write “… and this Post is just the one I’m starting with.” I have no intention on replying about this on any other post. I wrote what I wanted to write, and that’s it.
What I actually wrote, or at least intended to write, is “… and this Post (lets see if it changes… this t o p i c) is just the one I’m starting with”
I didn’t want you to think I’m about to start ranting. I’m not. Your AI bot or whatever changes our words. I already communicated what I wanted to. Thank you.

A funk has many good points. What is best is when we respond to certain people or in certain groups those people and groups should be easy to find and see because that is what and who we want/need to see to get the support we need easily. I don’t want to give up on this site but I do want to see some improvements.

You are our highest priority and just so you know, we are posting tips on how to enhance your user experience with infographics in the New Site Discussions group. -SG

Thank you. I didn’t know there is a New Site Discussions group. That’s good too. I’ll take a look at what everyone is saying and your tips. Thanks again.

We changed the others group to New Site discussions since that is what it was being used for-better clarification. -SG
