Hi everyone I’m a new member and a newbie to the drug lyrica
I’m on 300m a day and I hate this drug it makes me feel like I’m not me
Looking for anyone who can relate to me. The drugs seem to clear the pain when I’m not really doing much but I still get severe pain during and after my mornubg walk or any other hits hold duties and shopping is painful
I broke my back and wrist in a work accident three months ago and I’m on work cover so I’m on Physio appointment and home duties
I hate this drug but am following doctors orders and taking it can anyone tell me about the pain relief and then when you do something you still get severe pain ? And then there’s the bowel problems as I’ve had three impacted bowel episodes since the accident Any input would be most appreciated
Hi. Welcome to supportgroups.com, but sorry for the reason you're here. Sorry you've been in so much pain, and now you're having bad reactions to Lyrica. I took 2 courses of Lyrica/Neurontin/gabapentin - once about 12 years ago and then about 5 years ago. About 6 months each time. What I found was it messed with my short term memory. Had trouble remembering things from a few minutes ago. Also even after I got off it, I still had word-finding problems and reduced memory. Like "senior moments." It took a few years, but my memory has come back mostly, but not totally. Re: pain, it totally took away my pain the first time, and took away almost all of it the 2nd time.
Re: pain after walking - Maybe you should give up daily walks? Could you do other types of exercise instead? I suggest you tell your physiotherapist about the pain you are having after walking, household chores and shopping and see what they say. They might have some helpful suggestions. Best of luck to you.
P.S. Is the impacted bowels due to the Lyrica, or something else?
hello
go to eBay and buy this book "Treat your own back" by Robin McKenzie. But remember to read it a couple of times and listen to your body. Sometimes you can exercise your back too much and too often- as I found out.
