Hi guys! I'm a recovering sugar addict. I haven't consumed sugar since December 20th... not very long but I am so proud of myself for making it through the holidays. I'm reading an AWESOME book called "Overcoming Sugar Addiction" by Karly Randolph Pitman. Her style and approach to addiction just really works for me... If anyone's struggling you should definitely check it out. Also.... I'm here if anyone wants to talk. If you're craving sugar maybe we can figure out some healthy alternatives to bingeing together. And I'd hope there's people on here to help me when I'm having cravings too!

So happy for you Ms Jacelane this is wonderful news wish I could over come mine i just love sugar. God Bless, Butteflyfree
oh my goodness congratulations!! that is such a huge feat! Since the holidays I have started eating more sugar than i even realized. It has gotten to a point where I am munching on something sugary without even tasting it, or realizing I am eating. This week I really started noticing and trying to cut out all sugar....sooooooo hard. Tomorrow I am going to try to keep vegetables out on the counter to make munching healthy stuff more accessible than the sugary stuff. wish me luck!
Great work! The holidays are especially hard, if you can make it through those you can make it through anything!
Wow thanks guys.... so nice to receive some words of encouragement! Most of the people closest to me don't understand the hold my sugar addiction has over me and think i'm just being a 'diet nut' or 'health freak'
... thing is... it's not even so much about my weight or looks... it's about how bingeing on sugar makes me feel! I mean when I eat that way it sends me into a deep depression, I cry, I isolate, and eat more sugar. Such a vicious cycle. Today I am happy to say I am sugar free.... but as I learned in my 12 step programs, it's ONE DAY AT A TIME. To think about NO SUGAR FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE makes me crazy! One day at a time is much more doable.
I'm still overeating healthy foods though (especially almond butter!) but I hope to work on that hurdle next. I'm here if anyone has any tips for me or just wants to talk!! GOOD LUCK AURA :)))))
@jaceylane yes that’s what I hear
