Hi. I saw a pain management doc yesterday & he wants to try a nerve block in my very arthritic knees for some pain relief. Anybody else had this & did it work?

I would at least get a second opinion on it. Because it doesn't sound like it's a common type of treatment. It might work but asking extra information won't hurt.
Annie;
Although I have never had a nerve block in my knees, I have had the collagen injections which worked for awhile. It sounds like a hopeful choice to suffering. Do your knees still fully straighten and bend? I encourage you if you can to make sure you do not lose your ROM-range of motion in your knees, as that is important in balancing, transferring and walking by moving and or following an exercise program designed for arthritic knees. Getting a second opinion is always recommended; especially when in doubt. Most orthopedic doctors are trained and qualified in knee joints .
