Hi, I'm soon to be a senior in college and have been struggling with bulimia on and off for about a year now. I will eat super healthy and stay on track for a couple of days and then the next couple of days I completely binge and subsequently end up purging. Does anyone have some tips to stop this cycle? I don't think I'm at a point yet where I am comfortable seeking professional help. Thank you
If you go to overeaters anonymous, they aren't professionals, just overeaters and bulemics who taught each other how to stop.
Are you eating enough to begin with? If you aren't getting enough calories, then your body will compel you to eat, hence leading to a binge and the subsequent purging. I found that by eating more on a regular basis, I was able to cut down on the size and frequency of the binges. My weight remained the same.
Yup. That's the concept of restriction that leads to binge eating. That's what I use to do. You have to find out from a dietician or other wise one what ammount of the different food groups you should be eating everyday
