Oh, forgot to mention "Turmeric" (its a spice in pill form) I take 450mg's 2x's daily, it acts as an anti-inflammatory though do discuss w/your doc as too many supplements can have you in bathroom too much (oh dear). About the inhaler - I use Proair HFC 90mcg (albuterol Sulfate) but not "daily", I try my best to NOT depend on it/meds but rather place my focus on something else when needing to "slow down" for a moment. Meditation (I've heard) is beneficial so, sometimes I think of an "old Boyfriend kissing my neck" to slow my pulse rate thus slowing my breathing..it helps..lol..
@April If I think of an old boyfriend kissing my neck my pulse would accelerate rather than slow down, girl! Ha!
I started using Turmeric a while back in my cooking, when everybody was saying how good it was for you. Then I realized all my meals were yellow and tasted like turmeric! Ha!
I still use it but not that often.
Among the many things my dad had I found a CD of Wayne Dyer about meditation, I put it in and sat down and followed his guided meditation and it was about ten minutes and focusing on the first few words of The Lord’s Prayer and the gap between each word thus enlightening our conscious contact with God… Oh Em Geee! It was so soothing and peaceful…
Ommmmmm
I received the magnesium spray oil today! Yay! I wanted to ask you how you use it? Where do you spray it? How much, time of day, etc It doesn't say on the bottle. Thanks!
Hope all went well with hubby?! lol I miss that part of a relationship, just the kissing/holding, not all the other stuff... been a while, with all the menopause changes I became so not sexy and he, well, he just stopped calling... and after him, I have been pretty much alone. Thank God for church friends and girlfriends who just accept you as you are, right? As a matter of fact, I'm playing Bunco with a bunch of them tomorrow morning. Yay!
Thanks for the HBA translation. I find myself using less and less beauty products, make-up, perfume, lotion, antiperspirant, etc I am using coconut oil and natural deodorant, toothpaste, jojoba oil etc. instead of heavy fragrances like I used to.
I have given away a lot of my candles and incense that I used to love using! Life is becoming so simple now, but healthier!
I'll look for the zinc, thanks for the tip.
I'll ask around for loquat leaves, too!
Good night, my dear, sweet dreams and hope it was not too hot for you today out there.
@Alexph ok, about the magnesium oil…I assume you got the same brand that I mentioned? Kaiame Naturals brand? There are directions on the bottle but in short 20 sprays a day (equal to 400mg) is the recommended dose. New users should start with about half of that and work up to to 20 sprays. It will feel tingly and itchy for the first week or two of use but this for some reason does not happen on your feet so use it there until your body gets used to having it sprayed on it, then you can spray it on anything that hurts really. It can be used for joint pain, muscle spasms, muscle cramps…I use it on my neck and shoulders …I used to get really bad pinched nerves in my neck and this is a thing of the past (Yay!) Since I started using it last summer. I have not had a single pinhced nerve since And that is something to say since I got them very frequently!
Perimenopause caused me horrible insomnia and this oil has also made that a thing of the past and has even promoted a sense of calm for my nerves that were out of whack and just insane some days
I am so glad you are getting rid of your items that have chemical estrogen in them. Burst Bees has all natural make up. The only antiperspirant I have found that works and does not have chemcial estrogen in it is Almay for sensitive skin. Antiperspirant is one of the major causes of breast cancer in that you are actually rubbing chemical estrogen into your Mammory glands. There are articles about using magnesium as a natural deodorant but I haven’t tried it.
If you are using coconut oil, make sure it is organic. Regular coconut oil is not good for us…it clogs pores.
I hope you can find some loquat leaves…I used to make tea out of them all the time. My neighbors loved it! You can use whatever spices you want in it to give it flavor, just dont add sugar.
I’m glad you have social activities that get you out and about with your church friends. Staying social is going to be key in not allowing the depression that normally comes with this disease to consume you.
Off to sweat some more bullets today… We are having record breaking heat here today high 80s and low 90s already…whew…thank God for making someone intelligent enough to invent air conditioning!
Loads of hugs your way!
Add a minute to your walks today… I am proud of you for your efforts!
I already added a minute to my walks... I could hear your voice telling me that for this week... LOL Started yesterday.
My shoulders and neck area are a little sore from all the ups and downs and all arounds I am doing with my arms as I walk.
Playing Bunco with the ladies was fun but stepping out into an unusually cold n windy day here and breathing lots of dust from the tree trimmers in the parking lot gave me a bad headache all day.
I have another outing tomorrow with the red hat ladies and it's at someone's home so it will be okay, I hope.
Thanks for the hugs, sending some back to you!
I got a bunch of loquat tree leaves; a woman in my community gave me a few branches of it!!
So, I just washed about six of them and now what? I wait until they dry to make them into a tea?
@Alexph hey chickie… sorry, had family outing tonight and just walked in the door… will message you tomorrow. It’s midnight here and WELL past my bedtime!! Hugs…
I am getting a glass kettle to make my loquat leaf tea. I'm very excited about it because the one I have is old and a bit rusty inside and probably not healthy to boil water in it. I googled how to make the tea the japanese way and I now have a pretty good idea. Not sure how long it takes to dry the leaves, though I guess I'll just have to check them out each day.
What kind/brand/size of zinc? I see many kinds on Amazon. Thanks.
@mechele - your the BOMB!!!! To be honest @Alexph I'm VERY grateful I can still use my treadmill 4x's per week (need to pick up at least another day..I know..I know..) so keep up the great progress & you'll feel better. Oh, forgot to ask mechele I'm taking 800?? IU's soft gel cod liver oil, is that enough??
@April hey babe! Glad to see you! The cod liver oil needs to be taken in the liquid form in tsp doses to start and work up to two tbsp a day. The soft gels do not work the same way that the actual oil does. I get the cherry flavored kind but this just means it tastes like a cherry flavored fish! I put it in my orange Metamucil and slug it down like a good girl, when I use it everyday, the mucousy catch in my throat is thin and easily coughed up and spit out… if I forget it for a few days, it becomes very thick and glue like and no matter how many times I try to clear my throat, it says there! The cod liver oil is awesome at thinking it! I’m not gonna lie, the liquid is nasty but it works. Loads of hugs your way…I’m beat from fencing all day…only 8 panels to go! I love the look of it and can hardly wait to build my new flower beds against it and planting a row of queen palms running the entire length of it! Im excited to turn this into a positive thing! Love you chickie
Hey girls, I'm taking the spoonful of the cod liver oil and just down it with water of coffee, whatever I'm drinking at hand. no biggy, it's not that bad tasting, just fishy, LOL.
I use the turmeric in my food and I tried the spoonful of honey and sprinkling some turmeric on it and eating that. Not bad either. I really can't complain about tastes when I know these odd things are going to make me healthier.
I am walking slowly but still walking around inside my home; it seems I must have pulled a side muscle on hip and down my right leg, maybe I was overdoing the leg exercises after my walks, so I have been in pain and spraying the magnesium on painful areas. I slept in today and it felt really good. But, I'm still sore.
I got the progesterone cream in the mail yesterday and began using it. I am a bit apprehensive because it is based on soy and I have not done well with soy in the past. I did Medifast a couple of years ago and most of their food is soy based and I reacted horribly with mood swings, rashes, all over my body, just feeling wacky all over, so gladly they noticed and stopped me from those particular foods and I got better. So, I wonder if I'll have a similar reaction to the cream? I hope not! I am willing to continue using it just because I want these hot flashes to go away so badly. I'll keep you posted.
You go, Mechelle on the fence battle and glad you are speaking your mind with the ungrateful neighbours. I admire a strong woman and you are our superwoman! Chaaaaaaaarrrge!!!!
Have an awesome Sunday, dear ones.
@Alexph oh Alex, I’m so sorry…I should have asked you if you had a soy sensitivity! If hit bothers you, pass it along to your daughter and get the smoker mountain Naturals brand but make sure you get the paraben free soy free version. Hope it works for you!
Glad you are using the magnesium oil for your aches and pains. The first time I played the WII…I was BEAT the next day and sore all over the place…you don’t realize how my h ever use you get from playing that Thing! It’s awesome for us of course but when we first got ours we played for a few hours which was too long the first time…maybe this could be why youre aching?
Glad you f3l that way about the Cod liver oil. It is going to regrow your protective lung hair (alveoli) and prevent pneumonia.
Ope your Sunday was awesome! We got all our fence panels up but hubby decided he now wants to go across the front section where the pond is so back to the fence getting store we go on Tuesday to complete what we want to get done…they say fences make great neighbors,…Well I’m gonna make one I will never see again…see ya! Knwo one thing…nosy rosy gave me a wide berth the past two days building this fence! She had another neigh or co e over and push the pile of brush further into her brotehrs yard and kept her distance which was a blessing…I just could not handle her again today! Thank you Lord!
Have a great night!
Mechele *****, I read that "liquid form" cod liver oil is best, h**l already bought soft gels, will use anyway & get liquid cherry flavored form, ugh.. Alex - exactly what I thought of Turmeric..eewww, I stopped taking awhile ago, at least you used "real" stuff, good on you!
@April Hi April, Nice to hear from you.
How are you doing with the cod liver oil soft gels? I am taking the teaspoon of the liquid form and I think I need to up it to a tablespoon eventually. It really is not that bad, if you have a chaser ready. I either have my coffee cup ready or a piece of fruit, just something to get the flavor out of my mouth, but it’s not that bad.
I’m back to walking around my house and at stores or wherever I go, I walk all the aisles on purpose just to walk more. I am not (financially) ready to buy the treadmill and I also don’t have much room or someone to install it or take it upstairs for me, but, as long as I can walk around the house in a circle, I can count the minutes.
I made vegetable and red rice soup today and it was so yummy and healthy! I sprinkled some turmeric in it and other spices and chopped garlic and onion, I tell you, it was good. I’m not a good cook but I can sure make soup! LOL
Have a nice week!
Hope all is well with you.
I had a few 'down' days, kind of moody but today was better and I'm trying to lift myself up. I have been decluttering and organizing my life/home for a few months now and I now look around and realize I still have piles of papers to file or throw away, drawers filled with odd and ends, clothes/shoes that I chose to keep but I really don't wear and I became a bit frustrated and concluded that this will not end, there will always be something to work on inside my home. I have had the time to work on it but have not had the strength and energy or willingness, that's where I started to feel depressed... I want a clean house but it is so hard!
Also been feeling lonely and fantasizing about meeting a nice guy just for companionship/friendship... I do that once in a while but then it passes... Hope this passes soon, LOL!
Just needed to vent about that. I'll be fine, just need time... and energy...
How is everyone else doing?
@Alexph hey sweetie! So sorry I haven’t been around… my gosh, we have been going and going and going!
I can feel your desire to have and keep and clean home…dotn want it so much that it overwhelms you. Make a weekly gaol of what you want to accomplish that week and work it like you would a job. Start every day at the same time and o my work on it a set amount of them each day then go do other things. Of course there is always going to be something to work on in your home, but it doesnt have to consume you. Only tackle one junk drawer a day! Dump it into a shoe box (or bigger if you need) and only put back in the drawer what fits loosely…no piling. Use organizer trays so you don’t end up overfilling the drawer.
I am a very neat freak, very organized person and clutter of any kind makes me nervous, anxious and like I can’t concentrate. Im quite sure I have some borderline ocd. My no the was a hoarder and had unfinished projects all over the house when I was growing up…I hated it and it made me feel like I couldn’t invite anyone over. I love having a neat, clean organized hpuse…no matter who or when someone stops by, I never have to worry what the bathroom looks like! Lol
Sending some extra energy your way! Loads of hugs too! Hope your week is a great one!
