Hi there I am new to this group...I have been through this cycle so many times where I eat until I get a major pain in my tummy....I know its probably the situation I am in at this time but it really is not helping me at all. Does anyone have advice on how I can just stop eating like there is no tomorrow.

We're all so different of course and you've mentioned that you're dealing with a situation right now but here is what's working for me: I began journaling all my food/beverage consumption. I journaled for two weeks to see what I could find out about my eating habits. My journal includes the time of day, food/beverages consumed, the location of my eating, i.e., table, living room sofa etc., whether the eating represented normal eating, that is a meal or planned snack, which I indicated with brackets or whether emotional or binge eating where I used an * to indicate. Finally, I have a space for context comments. After the two weeks, I was able to discover the types of food that caused trouble, where my emotional or binge eating primarily occurred along with the knowledge of my comments at the time, I made a couple of changes. I try to eat at the table as my binges and other emotional eating was in the living room while I was watching t.v. I also made a change in my eating. As you know, binge eating is normally a fast process, so mindfully eating at the table has significantly improved my healthy eating style. I have a long way to go, but that was a good start for me.
