How do vegetarians deal with restaurants? What do you do wit

How do vegetarians deal with restaurants? What do you do with food that has eggs in it ? I'm really struggling with it. I ordered a pretzel and realized that it may have been made with an egg. Am I being overly cautious about eggs?

I have been a vegetarian for decades. I do eat eggs. I try and stick with eggs from range free chickens but I know when it comes to restaurants the business probably purchases the cheaper eggs valuable.
We all draw our own lines. I tend to try and not think about it when it comes to eating eggs at restaurants. I don't order anything with meat but will eat something made with eggs. Draw your own lines, ones you don't feel comfortable crossing, I find most people will respect them.

You made me feel so much better knowing that you do eat eggs and I'm going to look into free range eggs and your probably right about restaurants using cheap eggs. I've had other vegetarians slam me for eating eggs

To my knowledge, vegans are the ones who don't consume or use animal products and vegetarians eat animal products like eggs, butter, milk but they don't eat the actual animal

I know vegetarians that don't eat dairy at all and some that do
There's so many different types of vegetarians I guess

@VeggieGrl -I think you should choose what works for you. Vegans eat no animal products . There are different types of vegetarians some. Flexitarian eats mostly vegetables but will engage in meat products once in awhile. Pescetarian- no meat but fish. Lacto-ovo no meat or fish, but dairy n eggs. Do what’s right for your mind n body.

Chickens lay eggs with or without human intervention. If there is no rooster around, the eggs will be unfertilized but the chicken will still lay them. The way I see it, they can either rot or they can be eaten. I think the problem people have is animals being hurt. If you raise your own hens or buy from a trusted source then you can be sure that the chicken lives a happy life and like I said the chicken will lay an egg either way - its just what they do - and I don't see any problems with eating the eggs from happy chickens

@MJGpdx -I happen to agree. I have chickens (no rooster). My philosophy is that the animal lives a content n happy life in a loving environment. I feel the same about dairy.

I'm a lacto ovo pescetarian I'm learning a lot from you and I certainly appreciate it. Never heard of flexitarian , you definitely know your stuff.
What are your thought on non dairy milk? What's the best one to buy? I heard soy milk is pretty good as far as getting enough protein

@VeggieGrl -soy milk is your best substitute for cows milk in regards to protein. But there is almond n cashew milk too -(lower in protien) g as you can get your protein from another source , try them see which one you like the best! -It’s truly learning how to get balanced nutrition.

Thank you so much for your help I bought organic vanilla soy milk and it was amazing! It definitely tastes better than dairy milk. Thank you again for all your help I'm sure you'll hear from me again lol thanks!
