How does peer pressure affect us?
Peer pressure isn’t always a negative thing. It can be a positive influence and help challenge or motivate you to do your best. However, it’s helpful to recognize that peer pressure can also be negative. It can result in you doing something that doesn’t fit with your sense of right and wrong.
Peer pressure might influence you in a number of ways, including:
•Fashion choices
•Alcohol and drug use
•Decision to have a boyfriend or girlfriend
•Choice of who your friends are
•Academic performance

Peer pressure can be bad and good. From my experience as a high school Junior who suffers from depression and social anxiety, I can honestly say that peer pressure has definitely taken a toll on my life. Ive chosen to surround myself with friends who make good choices, but I've seen some of them fall into the temptation of drug and alcohol use because they wanted to be apart of that "cool" crowd, but I've also seen friends convince each other to not take the plunge and instead influence good behaviour. I myself habe been one of those friends who tries to talk my peers away from the edge as well have been tempted by others to jump. So all im all I'd say peer pressure really runs both ways and its up to you to choose what influences you allow into your life :)
