How to get better?

I may have hit a breakthrough in my recovery from my addiction, but it still has it’s triggers; worthlessness, social status, I even use my addiction to keep me motivated at work.

How do I get away from this?

good you have a breakthrough in recovery. I am happy for you. From my experience, those triggers still happen, even in recovery, You have to learn to better deal with them. Depending on what the trigger might be, you might say the serenity prayer for yourself,. You might pray for the trigger and hope they are happy and know peace. This can work if it is a person alot of the time.

Triggers never actually go away in life, we, as addicts have to learn to deal with them in a positive manner. I have approximately 2 years in recovery and not one day happens without some trigger hitting me. I have had to learn to adjust my thinking, and use some tools, like prayer, and i focus on other things, like, why am i triggered and what can i do to change that.
