Well im not hurting as bad as i was yesterday so i guess that is a good thing but im still in pain. ive been in pain for years but recently it has gotten worse and im not sure why. its gotten to a point that i just dont wanna get up and move. yesterday i ended up going to the ER because of how bad the pain was and that i dont have a doctor. when i got into the er my vital were very high
BP 163/130 and pulse of 148
after giving me pain meds and muscle relaxers i stopped hurting as bad
the doctor said that i might have a chronic pain syndrome
due to where i was hurting and how i am hurting.
im have to make a doctors appointment with a primary care doctor but i know how i am i havent gone to a doctor since i was 6 years old, i dont really want to go to one but i dont want to hurt like this anymore. I dont really know what to expect at the doctors. any advice or comments would be appreciated
Hi Dahlia, if the ER doctor recommended seeing a primary care physician, it's only to your benefit to do so. This will help get you answers as to why you've been in so much pain. In terms of how to find a doctor, it depends on your insurance and their policy. If you go to your insurance carrier's site, it should have a list of doctors in your area. Please know that I am here to help you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi Dahlia, I saw your post from the fibro group. I am concerned that you may not see a PCP for chronic pain. When the ER doc said chronic pain, that was just a blanket description for how you were/are feeling. Here is a link to 100 Symptoms of Fibromyalgia: http://www.fms-help.com/signs.htm copy/paste to your browser to read.
If you have fibro, an early diagnoses is critical to your overall pain management. I have been suffereing for years with chronic pain and fatigue BUT have only just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
My advice would be to look at the 100 symptoms, and if this is you, print out a copy and please make an appointment to see a doctor.
Im not sure how old you are but statistically this fibromyalgia affects females more than males starting as early as 20. I have been in contact with others that are as young as 11 and 15. Seek medical and please dont wait for the symptoms to get worse.
