I have a good friend who has tried so many aids to quit and he desperately wants to quit, though this nicotine addiction always makes its way back into his life. He's tried everything from nicotine replacement therapies, like the patch and gum, to acupuncture. The one thing that he hasn't tried is hypnosis. I am trying to help him the best that I can, though want to make sure that hypnosis is a good route to take before I hold his hand through it.
Has anyone had a good/positive experience and outcome with hypnosis?
know and trust the person you are working with - it does work because it has worked but i am not speaking from experience just what others have told me
i am currently reading a book called "the easy way to quit smoking" Carr, a lot of the book uses hypnotic language as well. i personally like it because it not only helps you quit but helps convince you that you just don't want to do it - life is better without it go enjoy life not nicotine. the only problem i am having with the book is that i quit before i read it and the book is designed so that you quit upon completion. ok so far but a rough day yesterday as i had to clean the garage - a dumping ground for stress in our family for the past year - i got through it but i let my mind slip to thinking how nice such projects are with nicotine but i came to the conclusion they suck either way and nicotine just would have made it worse.
Hi Drumon, so sorry to hear that you had a bit of a rough day yesterday, but congrats on getting through it without nicotine. That's so fantastic! I am going to recommend the book by Carr to my friend. Thank you so much for your words of wisdom and advice. Wishing you the best of luck on this continued path of quitting successfully!
