I am a customer service/sales support professional that has been out of work since last September. Since then I have done some temp work but nothing to write home about. Also, I have been on numerous interviews (including telephone interviews). How do I feel? Defeated and depressed...

I know how you feel. I was let go from my job in Dec 2014 and did temping but very little. I was on welfare for probably half the year. I started a temp to perm position at the beginning of this year and I was so confident about it. I felt so positive and thought this is finally over. I thought God answered my prayers and this is where he wants me to be. I think I was wrong because the company just announced that they are moving to a different location. It is currently located in Chicago, which is where I live, and they will be moving out of the city. Unless it's conveniently located near public trans I won't be able to go because I don't have a car.

I don't know if I can go thru this again.

It is not easy. It is hard to deal with rejection following interviews or applications not responded to. Depression can be a side effect from being in such a position. Maybe if we view even putting in applications as a success it helps. Nothing in life is for sure. Maybe viewing our position as temporary this may help as well. I don't know how long I will be in the position I am in, nobody does. We need to try to fill in our days as best we can. Some of what fills are days depends on what is available locally, job centers, counselling services, support groups, temp agencies, friends/family, etc. Other parts of what fills our daily is day to day living getting up, cleaning, food preparing, etc. Online activities and some distractions are important too hobbies, games, t.v. etc. Much of coping is just that day to day living and trying to fill it with as many positive activities as possible. I have got into listening to motivational videos and reading motivational books and books on topics of career change, unemployment, and related topic. I have spent time at the local library and local university reading books. Don't forget to treat your as human, many people up and down the ladder of material success have probably found themselves in this position. Another thing to remember, YOUR WORK IS NOT YOUR WORTH. Our worth is constant from drooling baby to old person.
