I am an alcoholic. I have been sober since Dec 3, 2013. Right now it is hard for me. I lost my sister to cancer. Her Home going is Saturday and it will be hard for me. I have 5 sisters and she is the first to go. We were close. I took her to doctor visits, shopping, and I help take care of her. After the funeral people will be drinking alcohol to drown there sorrows. Do you have some suggestions what I can do to stay sober?
Keep a safe drink in your hand, water...soda etc, cry those feelings out, and talk out the pain. The alcohol won't drown out any sorrows, it just stores up the pain until later...with interest. Stay strong, make sure to go to your AA meetings, keep your sponsor on the speed dial button, and dont be afraid to walk away from a triggering situation. Are there others who know, who could be a help to you? Please keep up updated.
