I am in FFA, and I love it. However, most of the people that I associate with in the chapter seem homophobic. I am currently at camp and yesterday at the dinner table they kept throwing around the term '***-lover'. I told them to stop and they kept saying that it ment sticks. Yes I know that in the bible it says ****** is a bundle of sticks, but it didn't sound like they were talking about sticks. They acted as if they had never heard the term *** in an other meaning before. I had explained to one of them why I was defensive about it, being because I have been called that before and I have close family that have been called *** and I have family and friends that are lgbt+. Then this morning we are all eating breakfast and I hear it again. "****, after a second of silence they say 'oops we're not suppose to use that word". I am just frustrated with them because they constantly make homophobic jokes and have no regard for the feelings of others. I am simply one lone voice in my chapter because I am the green-hand the freshman. I just don't know what to do next

I would say just keep at it, they have learned bad habits and it is up to you to help teach them good ones!
