I am new to this forum and I am 72 years of age, male and diagnosed with a stage 2-T3 3 inches from the rectum. I am currently undergoing chemo-radiation therapy and completed 17 radiation fractions. My problem is the excruciating pain I am experiencing during bowel movements. To mitigate the pain I am taking Panadol Extra Strength tablets, Advil Liquid-gels and Voltaren
n. Does anyone have any suggestions as it is extremely difficult during bowel movements! Help?

Can your docs give you a stronger pain medication.? Panadol is mild. Also, is is possible that you can use a pain med suppository, which might be an even better option? I read about a guy who found more success using Indomethacin Suppositories than other meds.
You are in my prayers!!!!! I care.

Thanks Shymeeee I am now using suppositories - but even that is not enough relief - the pain is excruciating! I am now going on a soup diet.

Soup soothing. Sounds good.

yes I am on soup now
