I was diagnosed with HPV also and I am very confused. I have only been with two men in my whole 53 yrs of life. The first, my husband of 26 years. I know he and I were virgins and totally faithful to each other. And then we divorced and I am with my 2nd husband who claims he was only with his ex wife and one other girl.

I just found out that I have hpv-16, and I'm kind of freaking out. My gyno says my pap smear was fine but I have hpv-16 and she wants me to come in for a colpo exam. I found this out Mon evening and I called to make an appt Tues morn. They can't see me until Aug 2nd. I'm freaking out over the wait! I'm driving myself crazy!! I have no idea how this is possible! I have only been with 2 people!! The first we were both virgins and always practiced safe sex in our relationship. Now I'm with a women who was also tested and is completely clean! How is this possible??

Hey, sorry to hear that you have HPV. I have it, too. I found last year and had a colposcopy and biopsy done for it. I have a low strain type but even so I can understand you would think maybe its the end of the world. If you manage it properly, its something that won't be a big issue. My recommendations are to take vitamins!!! (Flintstones immunity vitamins, Folic acid, green tea supplement, vitamin C)

I don't mind talking about my information my GYN gave me and my experience of what they did at the colposcopy and biopsy so if you or anyone on this thread would like to know, please feel free to message me!

Thanks for the response and the support. I don't know how I am going to wait until Aug 2nd to have this colpo exam done. I'm just so confused. I was only with one guy, and we were faithful. I just don't see how it's possible. I just have my fingers crossed that like the pap exam showed there aren't any abnormal or precancerous cells.
