I committed myself to getting rid of this awful ringing. I believe this is all relative to posture. I have a forward head posture where my head and neck jut more forward than my shoulders. I believe that's the root cause of the ringing because the balance of my inner ear bubble is not centered and putting pressure on the nerves that control this area. I started an exercise routine two days ago, and then missed yesterday. I did the routine again this morning, and have already gone through periods where I don't hear it. Of course as we all know, sometimes it's there, and sometimes not. I'm going to stay consistent with the routine each morning for the next two or three weeks and report back periodically. I may even do the routine additionally before bed to see if that speeds things up. It may take longer than three weeks. Who knows. I believe in this method of therapy because I did similar routines for four months to get rid of my sciatica. We'll see!
Wow MarWin I am going to start doing this. I have ringing to and sometimes it can drive me crazy. I do take Ginko Biloba and it helps a bit but the exercises are so worth it. Thanks for sharing this with us. You are one amazing person.
@Jennipain It’s the TMJ routine I gave.
that is wonderful! I am very happy for you! mine unfortunately is always there, never stops, ever. it sounds like you have got a good plan for your condition! I wonder if others on here may benefit from it.
@norseduncan Why do you think you wouldn’t benefit from it? What I meant is that we can use other noises to sometimes mask the ringing and/or sometimes we just don’t hear because we’re not really paying attention.
Update. I did the routine for the third consecutive morning today. So far all is status quo with minimal changes. But I believe that's how this works. Each day I do the routine, it builds on the previous day's routine, getting me closer to success. I plan on staying with this specific routine for a few weeks and will try to keep you all posted periodically. My initial goal is this routine will do the trick, but if not, then I will do another one. Luck!
@Jennipain Can you help me out? I am on the road. Are you able to send that TJM routine to @norseduncan?
@MarWin Let me look for it in the messages and see what I can do.
Very interesting ideas here! Thanks for sharing them :) Gonna try this as well. I need to go and see someone about my tmj as well--need some help with alleviation there. I think I'll go see a Rolfer . . .
DAY 7 UPDATE: I still experience ringing, but now it seems the times I'm hearing it is not as much. I am also noticing at times the ringing is not as severe, or intense. The short term goal is to have the periods of relief continue to increase with each day I do the routine. I have yet to do the routine more than once a day, but maybe I'll do another round tonight. Maybe! I'm not yet convinced this is the correct routine for me, but it does appear to have some benefits. I am convinced that consistency is the key with this and any routine for chronic pain. I'll continue with updates.
DAY 9 UPDATE: Well I didn't follow through and do the routine twice that day. I think I should have though. Yesterday was not the best. The ringing was intense at times, and was also constant. I need to get with the program and do the routine probably twice a day minimum. Not sure why I didn't. The routine only takes about 20 minutes. Wish me luck!
DAY 19 UPDATE: Since my last update I've continued to do the routine each day. Sometimes I did it twice in a day, but only about 1/4 of those days, maybe less. Today I decided to start a new routine since I grow impatient quickly without some results. The fact that I started a new routine should tell you all you need to know about how the previous routine did for me and my personal condition. We all have different reasons for our ringing. The first routine I chose simply did not address my specific postural condition. I am still a believer in that most chronic pain is lead by postural dysfunctions, stress, diet, and most of all lack of movement.
Sorry it took so long for an update. I'll try to stay up every few days or so. Wish me luck!
@MarWin best of luck!
